Stationary Sources and Miscellaneous
If you plan to install or operate any kind of stationary source or device that emits any air pollutants whatsoever within the 3 counties of this Air District, then you will probably need to obtain an Air Pollution permit. Visit our Forms page to download the forms: (1) Permit Application and (2) Instructions for Permit Applications.
If you have questions before submitting a form, please reference the list "Information to Have Readily Available" under the Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate page.
Please be aware that the air district will not review the application until the filing fee is paid (Rule 603(A)(1)(a) Stationary Source, Filing Fee). The air district has an initial screening that will first confirm the application is complete. If the application is not complete, the air district will contact the project manager listed on the application and request additional information that is needed (Rule 406). Once the application is considered complete, the air district will go through all information and send out an Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate depending on the type of permit that is needed at that time. This process can take months, an inspection might be needed, requests from the air district for more information could be asked, and a potential additional labor costs could be requested before a final Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate is sent over.
